Unable to show loader image before ajax call for dataTable

Hi,
How can I show a loader image before rendering dataTable and hide it after loading has finished. I have tried ajaxStart, ajaxSend, ajaxStop, ajaxComplete, beforesend, complete but nothing seems to work.

Please help.......
